Bassdesmophone

The bass desmophone is a string instrument and thus belongs to the group of cordophones. The resonating body is made of metal. In terms of sound, the bass notes of the Desmophone are characterized by their room-filling size. They are brilliant and have a cathedral-like resonance even in smaller rooms.

Since the body is made of metal, it can also be played directly and used in an idiophonic way, so to speak.

BASSDESMOPHONE P

The bass descophone P is a stringed instrument with two strings. The strings run horizontally. The tone range is from A1 to G3 on the lower string and from D2 to C4 on the higher string.

You can strike the bow horizontally with one hand and play the notes with the other hand.

The sounds resonate after strong plucking or bowing for about 7 to 9 seconds. Because of the metal body, the notes have a lot of power in all registers and sound very intense. Especially harmonics are carried by the metal and resonate brightly and radiantly.

Spiccati, whether played with a bow, a jazz broom or a metal stick (thickness 3 millimetres), sound pithy, sharp and resonate for 5 to 6 seconds.
